THANK YOU!
Vancouver Odd Fellows!
We recently received word that the Vancouver Odd Fellows has given SWJS a grant of $3000!
We are forever grateful for this show of support.
The FUNdraiser held at the Odd Fellow Hall on April 4, 2026 was well attended and the room was filled with joy. Swing Camp has drawn participants from far and wide and many were able to attend. It felt like a family reunion!
Thank you a hundred times over for the support of so many individuals AND the huge support received from the Odd Fellows.

This sums up their philosophy:
"Vancouver Odd Fellows Lodge 90 and Hemlock Lodge 8 provide opportunities for fellowship in all its forms, from hanging out and having fun, to discussion, to networking, to collaboration on creative and constructive projects, all with an eye not only on our own satisfaction but on what we might offer to the community at large. Vancouver Odd Fellows Lodge 90 and Hemlock Lodge 8 are great groups to find a lot of positive energy and where we encourage all members to contribute their share."
SWJS and Sorrento Centre
The origin of the SWJS camp, BC Swing Camp, was held at Sorrento Centre from 2001-2023. A unique partnership was formed, both organizations with the vision of creating community and promoting generosity of spirit. The two have become closely linked together, appearing at times like the same entity in the minds of participants.
To clarify the separation of the two organizations, however, it helps to keep in mind that SWJS is in charge of programming the activities and offerings of the music camp. We exist indepentently of the site.
Sorrento Centre provides accommodation and meals, but has nothing to do with activities provided by SWJS.
Therefore, if you have a question about the SWJS program, direct it to the society please.
If you have a question about accommodation or meals, please contact Sorrento Centre directly. 1-866-694-2409
Seeking Members
Purchasing a membership in Swing West Jazz Society is a great way to support camp as it will help us pay for Society operational costs like the website, society fees, banking, insurance, and accounting software and services. You can also offer support by making a donation to the Society. Swing West Jazz Camp can’t happen without the support of members, donors, and registered campers!
Help us build Swing West Jazz Camp! See you there!
Polly Wilson has written a delightful account of her experiences with camping and how they led her to the joys of Glamping.

Every evening there are concerts, dances or jams – sometimes all three! And you can’t beat the beautiful setting in Sorrento on Shuswap Lake.
